戚继光（1528年11月12日－1588年1月5日，即嘉靖七年闰十月初一－萬曆十五年十二月初八），字元敬，号南塘，晚号孟诸，山东登州人，一说祖籍安徽定远，生于山东济宁，是明代抗倭将领，军事家。於浙、闽、粤沿海诸地抗击来犯倭寇，历十餘年，大小八十餘战，终于扫平倭寇之患，被现代中国誉为民族英雄。卒諡武毅。

Qi Jiguang (November 12, 1528 – January 5, 1588) was a Chinese military general and national hero during the Ming Dynasty. He was best remembered for his courage and leadership in the fight againstJapanese pirates along the east coast of China, as well as his reinforcement work on the Great Wall of China.
